Boogie on Reggae Women

One of my favorite songs from the band Phish is the funky, heavy on the base version of Boogie on Reggae Women, a classic that Stevie Wonder made popular in the 70's.  To be honest I did not know that this song was a cover for a long time after listening to it for the first time.  After hearing both versions I see that they are both just as good as the other.  Both versions of the song use the same lyrics and have the same general meaning, however when Phish plays the song it is more of a joking around type of attitude as apposed to Stevie Wonder who seems to put soul into the music (not to say that Phish doesn't bring something cool to the song that wasn't there before). This song is most definitely a tribute to Stevie Wonders original and is played respectfully, yet there is some sort of irony that its about a reggae women who has soul and the men who make up Phish are all middle aged white men.  But you know what they say..you can never judge a book by its cover.

This commercial had to be my favorite of the entire Super Bowl!  It is a smart idea of a setting because the dogs who do actually run in these races are extremely fast, and it uses funny contradiction by having a pug, probably one of the slower and smaller dogs entered in the race.  After the shoes make the pug run faster and finish with a moonslide there is no more relivance to the shows and this is rather trying to make the viewer laugh.

This video really made me laugh.  It was funny when a baby and grandma duo come together and do something that is clearly not possible or safe for a baby to be doing.

The Voice of Lam

What are the negatives of the new social media that has taken over our society?  Well at first there might not be to many negatives, possibly less face to face contact with other people, or maybe its making our youth stare at their cell phones all day.  While these are both not good, they are not concerning.  However when the social media takes away from societies ability to respond to an emergency that is when I believe we need to be concerned.  How will the youth of our newest generation be able to learn that the best way to handle an emergency is not to tweet it or post a facebook status and a picture to go with it,  if the generations before them are starting to handle these situations in the same exact way.  Should we be concerned about what we are becoming??
